 Overview 

This journey, which is unusual in its course, leaves the largely beaten tourist paths of West Bengal Odissa Numerous world cultural heritage sites are on the way, with the two metropolises Bhubaneshwar and Kolkatta the pulse of India can be experienced across the centuries. There are many encounters with the religious traditions of the country and with its history, at the same time, you can always be found in everyday life in India and in the realities of life of its people.

DAY 1: Arrival at Kolkata

Land at Kolkata Airport and met by our representative and transfer to your Kolkata hotel.

DAY 2: Kolkata

Today we enjoy a city tour of Kolkata. Your first stop is the famous Jain temples, followed by the local flower market. Afterward, drive across the Howrah Bridge to the more industrial area of Howrah and along the foreshore where we will have a panoramic view of Kolkata from across the river.

We cross back over the Hooghly River via Vidyasagar Setu (a bridge over the river) and visit the Kali Ma Temple. The Kali Temple has constructed 350 years ago on that area, located near to river Hoogly, where Sati, Lord Shiva’wife when Lord Shiva visited his father in Law house, he was insulted by Father in Law Daksha, Sati was very angry and she jumped into the fire and finish her life. Shiva was very angry, to calm him, Lord Vishnu cut down the body of Sati with his chakra into 51 different parts. These body parts fell all over the world. Places where the body parts fell – became center of worship of Goddess

We also visit the Victoria Memorial, commonly known as the British Taj Mahal. Constructed using marble from all over India, This memorial is constructed in honor of Queen Victoria after her death.

DAY 3: Kolkata – Bhubaneshwar

After check-out, transfer to the airport and fly to the ‘temple city of India’, Bhubaneshwar. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport by our representative/ driver and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, embark on a tour of the Parasurameswara Temple which was built in 650AD and is considered to be the best-preserved specimen of an early Hindu temple. Later, tour the Rajarani Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known as the ‘love temple’ and is adorned with erotic sculptures of women and men.

DAY 4: Bhubaneshwar

Buffet Breakfast and Drive to visit the caves of Udayagiri and Kandagiri with English speaking guide. Enjoy touring the three cave sites and discovering the unique inscriptions on the walls of each cave.

Later this afternoon, return to the hotel and have the afternoon free at your leisure.

DAY 5: Bhubaneshwar – Puri 

After breakfast and check-out, travel by road to Konark to tour the 13th-century Sun Temple. The Temple was designed to be an enormous chariot for the Sun God Surya. Later travel to the village of Pipli, famous for its handmade appliqué work.

Afterward, continue your drive to Puri approx. 1.5 hours (60.8km), situated on the Bay of Bengal which is south of Bhubaneshwar. Puri is a very holy city for Hindus as it is part of the Char Dham pilgrimage trail. Puri is also home to one of the best beaches for swimming in India.

DAY 6: Puri

Visit Chilika Lake, the largest coastal lagoon in India, spread over 1,100sq km.

Later, visit the temples of Gundicha Later this afternoon, return to Puri, and your hotel to relax.

DAY 7: Puri

Visit the site of the 11th-century Jagannath Temple, a holy place for Hindus. Non-Hindus cannot enter but can view from the Raghunandan library opposite. This temple is an important pilgrimage destination for many Hindu traditions, particularly the worshippers of Krishna and Vishnu. It is also one of the Char Dham pilgrimage points, and every Hindu is expected to reach this temple in their lifetime.

Return to your hotel and have the afternoon free at your leisure to relax or possibly swim at the famous Puri Beach.

DAY 8: Puri – Kolkata via Bhubaneshwar

After breakfast and check-out, depart for your drive back to Bhubaneshwar airport approx. 1.5 hours (60km), for your flight to Kolkata. Reach Kolkata and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 9: Kolkata ( Departure)

After check-out this morning your arrangements end.
