Chhattisgarh

Primarily a rural state, this recently partitioned region of Madhya Pradesh contains great examples of remote natural destinations that will delight the intrepid traveler with the yen for adventure. This densely green state is nearly half covered in deciduous forests, partly resulting from its typically humid climate and proximity to the Tropic of Cancer. Travelers most often begin their travel in the capital of Raipur and journey onward to the more remote destinations in the state. Most of the sites here are relatively untouched and unexplored, therefore offering a unique and alternate experience to tourists when compared to traditional destinations.
