Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT DELHI
Arrive at Delhi, after clearing customs and immigration, collect your luggage and make your way to the exit where your driver will be waiting for you and transfer to Hotel.
DAY 2: DELHI TO KALKA TO SHIMLA BY TRAIN
Morning you will collect from your hotel and taken to the train station where you will catch the train for Shimla. This is a day train; the train departs from Delhi at 0740 hrs and arrives at Kalka at 1145 hrs. on arrival in Kalka disembark and take the memorable ‘Toy Train’ from Kalka to Shimla, this takes a Further 5 Hours, then you will be met and transfer to the hotel.
DAY 3: SHIMLA
You will spend the day leisurely walking around discovering many of the main heritage sights leftovers from the British and learning about its history along the way. With your guide, you will start the day with a tour of the grand vice Regal Lodge before waling an hour or two on the ridge enjoying the views of the Himalayan in the distance before reaching the Mall where you will stop for some lunch at a local restaurant. After Lunch, you will stroll along the mall road where there you will be opportunities to buy a couple of souvenirs as you pass through the bazaar before finally reaching the Hotel where you will end your day’s walking tour with some high tea in the garden.
DAY 4: SHIMLA TO DHARAMSHALA BY ROAD (260 KM)
This morning you will meet at your hotel by your vehicle for the Scenic 260 Kms drive to Dharamshala (approximately 8-9 hours). On the way you will be able to stop for Snacks and lunch along with any photo stops you wish to make. On arrival in Dharamshala, you will be taken to the hotel.
DAY 5: DHARAMSHALA
Today you will be relaxed or enjoy a walk around the villages and beautiful scenery just outside the city of Dharamshala. Your Local guide will meet you at Lobby and transferred to the peaceful village of Naddi which is home to the Gaddi tribe and boasts amazing views of the Dhauldhar Himalayan Mountains. You will be able to visit and enjoy a cup of tea, local people, before walking through the cedar forests to a Buddhist Stupas, there were we able to heard the-Tibetan Monks meditating & chanting, you will climb around 300 meters to a ridge where you will view of the area. You will end your time in the area with a walk to the village of Bagsu Nag. Later we will be walking around the village and have-enjoy a cup of local tea before going onto the Tibetan Children’s Village Norbulinka, also visit Tibetan Library.
DAY 6: DHARAMSHALA TO AMRITSAR BY ROAD (205 KM)
This Morning you will be picked up from your hotel by private chauffeured vehicle for the 200 Kms drive to Amritsar (approximately 5-6 hours). Evening Visit the Golden Temple.
DAY 7: AMRITSAR
Today you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the world-famous Golden Temple, the seat of Sikh Religion, later we head to Jallain Wala Bagh, located close by – this is the infamous site of the massacre of 13th April 1919, by the British General Dyer who opened fire on an unarmed crowd.
Afternoon excursion Wagah border, situated on the India – Pakistan border, Wagah border is approximately 30 kilometers from Amritsar city. Here people come from all over the world to see the change of guards ceremony and the flag hoisting and lowering activities that are done with great skills.
DAY 8: AMRITSAR TO DELHI (DEPARTURE)
You will be collected from the hotel and transfer to the Amritsar railway station to board a day train to Delhi. On Arrival at Delhi, you will be met by a company representative and taken to the Delhi airport to board a flight for the home country.
