Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT COCHIN
Upon arrival in Kochi and to be pickup by our driver / representative from Airport and transfer to Hotel and check-in
DAY 2: COCHIN SIGHTSEEING
Enjoy a full day tour of Kochi today including visits to the Dutch Palace, the Jewish synagogue, St. Francis Church and the Santa Cruz Basilica. While driving along the coastline at the harbour’s mouth, one can also view the unique and still-in-use ‘Chinese fishing nets’ which were introduced by the Chinese traders in the 14th Century. Later you spend some time in Fort Cochin area where can walk around the historical Dutch and Portuguese building.
This evening enjoy a Kathakali dance show, with characters divided into the noble, wicked and grotesque wearing extravagant costumes.
DAY 3: COCHIN TO THEKKADY BY ROAD
Depart Kochi this morning and transfer to Thekkady (Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary). The drive will be approx. 4 hours (164km).Later this afternoon you will meet your local naturalist in the hotel lobby and proceed for visit of a spice plantation. Afterwards, return to the hotel for time at leisure.
DAY 4: THEKKADY TO ALLEPPEY BY ROAD
This morning you will meet your local naturalist in hotel lobby and proceed to enjoy a boat ride on Periyar Lake inside the park After touring you will be transferred to your hotel for Breakfast.
After breakfast leave your hotel and drive approx. 3 to 4 hours (155km) to Allepey. Upon arrival at the dock, you will board your houseboat and cruise the backwaters of Kerala, Enjoy authentic Keralan cuisine as you gently cruise through the peaceful canals. Relax and observe the daily life of the local communities living along the beautiful backwaters of Kerala.
DAY 5: ALLEPEY TO KOVALAM BY ROAD
Disembark from your house boat at Allepey and travel for approx. 4-5 hours (170km) by road to Kovalam.
DAY 6: KOVALAM TO TRIVANDRUM TO KOVALAM
Enjoy a tour around Trivandrum today visiting the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Kuthiramalika Palace, Sree Chithra Art Gallery and Napier Museum, with its bronze collection. Also enjoy a walk through a local fruit & vegetable market.
DAY 7: KOVALAM TO TRIVANDRUM ( DEPARTURE)
Arrangements end upon check out from your hotel this morning, and transfer to Airport
